LeoVegas has officially launched its proprietary Tiger sportsbook platform in the United Kingdom, extending the service across BetMGM, LeoVegas, and BetUK brands. This release marks the latest phase in the operator's strategy to replace third-party technology with in-house solutions following successful rollouts in Denmark, Brazil, and Sweden.
The new platform is built on the Tipico US technology acquired by MGM Resorts International in 2024. LeoVegas highlighted several key features integrated into the UK version, including enhanced odds boosts, partial cash-out options, and a flex combi product designed to offer greater flexibility for combination bets.
Strategic Implementation and Market Context
Adrian Vella, Chief Product and Technology Officer at LeoVegas Group, described the launch as a significant milestone in the company's two-year development journey. She noted that each market rollout has contributed to refining the platform and strengthening the group's competitive position. James Derbyshire, Sports Director for UK & Ireland, added that the proprietary technology allows for features tailored specifically to the local market.
LeoVegas initially introduced Tiger in Denmark last year before expanding to Brazil in January and migrating Swedish brands, including Nye Expekt and BetMGM, in June. The company previously relied on Kambi for sportsbook technology under a partnership extended until 2027. While the transition aims to reduce reliance on external providers and accelerate innovation, the timeline between the Danish launch and subsequent rollouts suggests a gradual implementation process.
